Nike first released the Kobe 5 Protro after Bryant won his fifth NBA championship with the Los Angeles Lakers. Along with other championship motifs, Bryant's signature appears in bright gold on the heel.

Highlighted by the white sole, this sneaker starts with bright blue and gradually fades into golden yellow with a blue cap over the toe. More graffiti-like writing appears on the inner sole.
